Today's Announcements

• Congratulations to Anthony DeJean of the boy's Indoor Track Team. Anthony placed first in the Long Jump of the Indoor State Championship on saturday at cornell University. Anthony jumped 23 feet 9 inches on his last jump to win the overall State Championship. Great job Anthony!
• Congratulations to the RFA Jazz Band for achieving a gold rating at the Oneida Jazz Fest this past Friday! A special congrats to those who won an All-Star award: Erin Bojanek, Jack Cheseboro, Nick Dixon, Jillan Gardner, Shelby Bird, Kevin Li, and Stephanie Mata. Great job!
• Congratulations to the following Career Fair Door Prize Winners: Lisa Barker, Dakota Costello, Mary Ellen Consiglio, Sarah Foley, Joshua Jones, Gina Klepadlo, Sarah Miller, Ashley Puchyr, Tim Saccento, and Jeff Vaughn. Please see your guidance counselor to pick up your door prize!
• Congratulations to the Girl's 4x200 Relay Team of Jess Razy, Hilary Blake, Erin Thomas, and Jess Gallagher who won 5th place at states! Also, congrats to Kelly Benfey who won 5th place in the pole vault.
• Congratulations to Stephanie Mata and Erin Bojanek for placing in the B-sharp competition. Stephanie placed first on flute and Erin placed third on flute. Stephanie will be performing April 25th at the Munson-Williams Proctor Institute. Way to go, ladies!
• Tuesday's bible clubmeeting has been cancelled.
• Anyone planning to try out for freshman baseball must attend a mandatory meeting in room 1309 on Thursday, March 11th.
• RFA Seniors, wear your school colors tomorrow for a special event.
• Attention Seniors, Graduation announcements may be picked up this Friday, March 12th, outside the Knight Spot during lunch periods. Cap and gowns will be distributed at a later date.
• Black History Club will meet Thursday in room 2222. Join us for a movie and refreshments.
• Juniors, a representative from Mohawk Valley Community College will be at RFA tomorrow, March 10, at 9:45. Any undecided seniors who would like to investigate MVCC for the fall may come also. Get a pass from your guidance counselor.
• Attention RFA students, SADD is sponsoring its annual RFA poster contest. The theme for the poster is "Student Consequences of Drunk Driving." Three judged posters will earn 25 dollar, 15 dollar, and 10 dollar gift cards. All posters must be submitted to Mr. Dunn before the March 23 judging.
• Congratulations to the following freshmen who were selected by audition for the Oneida County Chorus to be held in New Hartford March 12 and 13. Christina Feliciano, Tom Draper, Callahn Hughes, Anna Skalski, Andrea Bannios, Maysan Garay, Abbe Nickles, Quiana Holmes, and Taylor Uvanni. Please report to the music lab today 3rd period for your all county lesson.
•Attention students and staff, Peer Leaders is collecting prom dresses and semi-formal dresses for the prom dress drive. Check your closets, because time to recycle prom dresses in good condition. You can drop them off in room 1234.
• Alfred University: Are you intersted in horseback riding? Alfred University is offering summer riding camps for BOTH English and Western riding. Both will be held in July. Check out Alfred University website for more information www.alfred.edu/summer.
• ATTENTION ALL SENIORS! Check the list of seniors that will not be pictured in this year's yearbook. The list is posted outside of room 1205. If your name is on this list, please stop into room 1205 during 8th or 9th period to discuss options.
• Staff and students are invited to submit suggestions for favorite quote of the week. Quotes can come from the genre of your choice: poems, music lyrics, popular sayings etc. Please leave your suggestions with Mrs. Polivka at the front desk.
